Snow & Cold

A long duration snowstorm accompanied by strong north winds and bitter temperatures added up to Governor Cuomo declaring a state of emergency in NY last night.  For the first time in recent memory, the thruway from Albany south was actually closed from midnight to 5am this morning.  Snow piled up to about 10 inches in Nassau, but temperatures dropped well below zero , not to mention wind chills in the dangerous area of -20 degrees.
With road conditions very slow to improve I stayed in the village of Nassau to take a look at the freshly fallen snow on this frigid morning.

Hoping to get some riding in on my new snowmobile as well.
