Did a short walk along the Sand Lake Walking Trail early this morning before the heat really kicked in. The trails are fairly uneventful, but the red trail, which hugs the Wynantskill was quite wet and overgrown in spots. Also...tick infested.
Covered about 8/10 of a mile on a hot, spring day.
It looks like the town is expanding their trails...they have a new lot and a kiosk set up at 150 and Biitig rd in Sand Lake ...haven't been able to find much info on it, so not sure what the official status is.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I didn''t know about the new lot and kiosk. Thank you for the info!
DeleteThanks for the hiking report, I have been meaning to go there, now I know not to go there! (Although maybe in winter it could be nice).
ReplyDeleteHi Ned! Yeah, my previous visit was in the winter and it was a nice walk. Seems like late spring and into summer might not be the best time to visit, unless you plan to stick to the trails in the woods and away from the creek.
