On our way to visit Kalli's relatives this afternoon, we stopped off for a quick walk at the 12 acre Mud Creek Environmental Learning Center, located on Route 66 in the town of Ghent, one mile east of the intersection with Route 9H. We passed this trail map near the trailhead.
Entering the Mud Creek Trail.
A beautiful afternoon, with blue skies, low humidity and temps hovering near 80.
All of the trails are wide and easy to follow, as well as being meticulously tended to and cared for.
Crossing over Mud Creek, which as you can see is aptly named.
There are several well built boardwalks that cross through wetland areas.
We followed trails all the way to western edge of the property and eventually came to the top of the hill, where there are views to the top of the surrounding trees and bushes as well as nearby roads and fields.
A view towards a nearby farm and silo from the top of the hill.
Enjoying another stretch of boardwalk.
Mud Creek meandering along near the trail.
We enjoyed a very leisurely stroll on a gorgeous summer day. Walked a little over a mile total.
