Tupelo Community Forest(Town of Greenfield, Saratoga County)

Visited the brand new 145 acre Tupelo Community Forest, located at 250 Green Road in Greenfield Center on a beautiful spring afternoon.  A new parking lot and informational signage, as well as a trail map are available for visitors at the trailhead(Elevation 765 feet).

Within just a few moments of hiking, the trail passes beside a gorgeous wetland.  What a way to start the hike!

There are several trails that criss-cross through these woods passing by handsome stone walls along the way.

I stuck with the orange trail(which currently is only marked with pink flagging) and it took me to a large, picturesque beaver pond at the north end of the forest.
Rock hopping the beaver pond's outlet.
The trail system is built for hikers and bikers alike, and I saw several of both out on this nice spring day.
Hiked about 2.5 miles with minimal elevation gain on various trails and was quite happy with the experience.  I think this will grow into a popular destination as word gets out about it.
