Private Catskill Hundred Highest Peak

Headed down to the beautiful western Catskills with my buddy Jim again today to hike another hundred highest peak.  Permission is required to hike this mountain, which I will keep anonymous today.  While the valleys were mostly clear in the early morning, the mountains were shrouded in a thick fog.  Irish Mountain's summit seen here in the clouds.
Although quite humid, the thick cloud coverage held back the temps a bit.
Our route was pretty straightforward gaining nearly 1100 feet in a little over 2 miles.
As we neared the ridgeline, we could see the fog and mist ahead.
Haunted woods.  The higher we climbed, the thicker the fog got, leaving a beautifully eerie scene.
Once on the main ridge, the fog seemed to loosen its grip just a bit.
As always, we were elated to find a nice viewpoint.
Golden ferns high up in the mountains.
The nearby ridgeline.
A little clearing providing even better views, as the morning wore on.
Descending through a gorgeous mixed forest.
A close examination of this little creature atop a wildflower.
A great day in the woods for my 95th Catskill Hundred Highest.  It's been a unique and truly beautiful journey so far.

Once back in the car, I explored some of the Catskill byways.  Here, a  quiet little farm sits tucked into Meeker Hollow.
Clearing skies towards SE Warren Mountain(another hundred highest peak) from Roses Brook Road.
The western Catskills are breathtakingly beautiful, where even the power line views are worth checking out!
Descending Narrow Notch Road.
These Catskill backroads are truly magical, with rolling farmland and 3000 foot peaks all around.
From the valley of Town Brook, I found this gorgeous look at the Moresville Range.
The Township Methodist Church stands proudly in this peaceful, quiet corner of the Catskills.
