Went for a quiet, rainy walk this morning at the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy's Bozen Kill Preserve. The Preserve is located off of Westfall Road, just northwest of the village of Altamont.
A blue marked trail heads left away from the kiosk leading right to the Bozen Kill. Just upstream from the bridge on Westfall Road, there are a series of small shelf like cascades.
A second rock shelf about 50 feet upstream.
After passing a third shelf of cascading water, the trail continues west passing by an old stone wall.
The blue trail is short, and soon meets back up with the white marked trail, which climbs up into the woods.
The damp woods made for a peaceful setting.
A small path leads away from the white trail to a washed out hillside and now an overlook of the creek.
The white trail comes to an abrupt end after about one mile, when it drops down to the creek bed.
Looking back downstream through the light rain and mist.
Retraced my steps back to the car along the white marked trail as the rain first began to taper off and then became heavier once again.
Arrived back at the car soaking wet after walking about 2 miles RT.
