Dunham Reservoir(Grafton Lakes State Park, Town of Grafton, Rensselaer County)

Did a quick evening hike to Dunham Reservoir from Route 2 in Grafton after work today as overcast and breezy conditions ushered out the beautiful weather from the last couple of days. Parked in the small lot on the south side of Route 2, just west of the Main park entrance(Elevation 1400 feet), and took the yellow blazed GartlersTrail across an open meadow and into the woods.

Continuing south and the colors were really popping today-even with a complete overcast.
Passing along a colorful stretch of the Quacken Kill.
After about 1.35 miles, I arrived at the north shore of the Dunham Reservoir at peak color.  With brighter conditions in the next couple of days, this should be a very photogenic location.
Checked out the northern shore of the Reservoir before turning back due to the late hour.
Crossing over quiet and peaceful Johnson Road on my way back to the Gartlers Trail.

Covered about 2.9 miles total and didn't see another person.  The foliage is at or very close to peak here and will be a great place to visit this coming weekend.
