Barkersville Trails(Town of Providence, Saratoga County)

While up in the Saratoga area for an appointment this afternoon I decided to stop by one of Saratoga PLAN's newest preserves, the Barkersville Trails located off Silcox Road in the town of Providence.

About an inch of snow fell last night and early this morning, coating these high elevation woods in a pretty coating of white.  I took both the red and yellow marked trails, which meander through a peaceful, mixed forest.
The trails pass through handsome woods, crossing over a tributary of Glowagee Creek several times on its way.
This was a rally nice woodland walk, at just over 2 miles RT, with lots of small ups and downs along the way.  The light snow only enhanced the overall experience.  Didn't see anyone else on this cool, but comfortable December day.

  1. One of my favorite places to just roam around through the woods. Just enough up and down to keep it interesting. A good mix of forest too. I really like the deep hemlock ravine. It's very deep woods Adirondack-like.

    1. I have to agree...a nice, easy stroll in the deep woods with an ADK feel. No huge vistas or anything but doesn't need to be.
