Schor Conservation Area(Columbia County)

Finally a dry day!!  Visited Schor Conservation Area in rural Columbia County after work today on a beautiful 60 degree, sunny fall afternoon.  Even the drive on the quiet back roads is serene.

 Golden maples.

 Bucolic fall countryside.

 

There are about 2.5 miles of trails at Schor with Jon's Pond being the centerpiece.

 Some fall colors hanging on around the shore.

 Beautiful reflections on the still water.

A footbridge leads away from the pond and into the woods.

 Looking upward at the pines and mostly barren hardwoods.

 A red trail leads up through the woods to a nice western vista.

 Soaking in the beautiful far reaching views.

 Relaxing on the swinging bench at peaceful Jon's Pond.
